12" (black) / test pressing / Sub Pop / SP34 / made in USA (Erika) / 1989
White label test pressing of the original 1989 release of Bleach. They came in white inner sleeves only. At least one copy came with a press kit including a press photo and three press sheets printed on both sides with photocopied articles, reviews, and another picture of the band.
The lacquers were cut by Carol Hibbs at K Disc, and metal plates were manufactured by Lee Plating, as identified by the matrix codes seen in image 8. Records were most likely pressed by Erika.
A total of four copies have been found. Three of them have a similar-looking "34" written on the labels, which may have been written by the pressing plant or by someone at Sub Pop. Other handwritten titles have been added by later owners. The final copy found, not pictured on this page, came with blank labels, but "Nirvana" written on the inner sleeve.
