| Oh, The Guilt TG83 (France) test pressing | |||||||
|
Black vinyl, yellow generic labels. "Échantillion" means "sample". Comes in a white inner sleeve with a sticker with release information from the company that organized the manufacture and pressing of the single (but they did not press it themselves), and also distributed it, Southern Studios Ltd. So far three copies have been found, two came from a Southern ex-employee. Five to six may exist. The retail single was only pressed on blue vinyl. "TG83" and "Cops" are handwritten in blue pen on side A on all copies. Two also have the date 22 JAN. 1993 stamped on side A (exactly one month before the retail single was released). The third also has handwritten band names on both sides, which appears to have been written with a different pen. This also came with a letter and a press release. The letter was addressed to Gary Crowley, a DJ on Greater London Radio (GLR), now BBC London, and was sent by a TV/ radio promotions rep at Southern. It also came with a blue press release with general information about the release (which has much of the same text as a white press release which once came with a retail 7" used for promotion, the blue press release has also been found with a retail CD used for promotion). So, this test pressing was used for radio promotion. Pressed by DFI in France, as written in the matrix. The lacquers were mastered by K Disc, but the first cut must have been faulty, as RE1 in the matrix denotes remake 1. The father and mother plates were made by Lee Plating in USA (they added the L-code to the lacquer before doing so, as the L-code is just as deep as the lacquer etchings done by K Disc). The mothers were handed over from Touch & Go to Southern, which then handed them over to Cops. Cops was an agent hired by Southern to arrange the pressing of the single. DFI added the "DFI -93-1" parts to the mothers before creating the stampers.
